The Crown Bar a is Probably the most famous pub in Belfast and one of the finest high-Victorian saloons in the UK. It features an ornate interior of brightly-coloured tiles, carvings and glass and a wonderfully atmospheric setting in which to down a pint. |

2. The Duke of York |

An old-fashioned pub, The Duke Of York is welcoming and warm and is one of Belfast's gems. The venue with its white exterior featuring old-fashioned metal adverts for whiskey and Guinness and hanging flower baskets. |

Kelly's was once a country pub on the edge of town and although there is some argument over its exact age, there is no doubt that Kelly's Cellars is the oldest surviving, continually run pub in Belfast. And what is most memorable, perhaps, is that in its 280 year history, it has managed to retain its focus as an everyday drinking mans pub. This is a serious pub for serious drinkers, where a rich and eclectic mix of Belfast characters, including artists, writers and actors, gather to sup fine frothy pints of Guinness and discuss the ways of the world. 4. The John Hewitt Bar |

Located in Belfast's Cathedral Quarter, The John Hewitt first opened its doors in December 1999. The bar is unique in its ownership as it is owned by The Belfast Unemployed Resource Centre. The Resource Centre's managers had always relied on various grants to fund its work, when in the mid ninties, they came up with the idea of generating some of their own funds by going into business... And why not a pub! John Hewitt, the late poet, socialist and Freeman of Belfast officially opened the Resource Centre on Mayday 1983, hence the name of the bar. |

7. The Garrick Bar |

The Garrick Bar offers a range of locally sourced freshly prepared dishes from 12pm to 6pm Monday to Saturday. The Front Bar has Traditional Music Sesions on Wednesday nights at 9.30pm and Fridays at 5pm. |

The original pub, dating back to 1859, was the favourite watering hole for the star performers of Belfast's famous music hall, The Empire. The bar has now relocated to a characterful old converted warehouse close to the Waterfront Hall but it retains all the charm and charisma that visitors experienced at its former site. |
